On May 25, 2022, the Regulator issued revised Well Suspension and Abandonment Guidelines and Interpretation Notes (Guidelines) under section 18 of the Oil and Gas Operations Act.  The Guidelines set out the Regulator’s expectations of operators when suspending or abandoning a well. The revised Guidelines have been updated to remove obsolete references, harmonize inspection requirements with the Well Inspection Report form, reflect the recent amendments to the Oil and Gas Operations Act, and correct typographical errors.
