On July 23, 2020, the Regulator issued Public Access to Information Guidelines and Interpretation Notes (Guidelines) under section 18 of the Oil and Gas Operations Act (OGOA).  The Guidelines are effective July 23, 2020 and respond to changes to OGOA which came into force on July 23, 2020, notably an increased emphasis on transparency of the regulatory process and availability of information to the public.

The Office of the Regulator of Oil and Gas Operations (OROGO) has also published a Summary of Public Engagement Results, which captures the feedback received during the public engagement process for the draft Guidelines and how it was considered in the final version of the Guidelines.
